real wedding | morven and andrew

I do love an autumn/winter wedding. Especially one at Wedderburn Castle and Barns!
I knew from the initial emails between Morven and myself that their floral style was in sync with my own. I also knew I really, really wanted to design their wedding florals so I was delighted when they asked me to be their florist.
The theme was woodland inspired with lots of foliage and texture. We wanted to bring the outdoors into the barns. We added large branches to the beams and entwined a variety of foliage & trailing amaranthus and then hung glass baubles with tea lights inside from them. With candles galore and fairy lights romantically lighting up the exposed brick walls it was all so picture perfect and cosy.
For Morven’s bouquet we brought in a soft touch of peach to compliment her breathtakingly beautiful dress and we kept a mixture of foliage within her bouquet to keep consistency with the venue decoration and the countryside surroundings. For Andrew’s buttonhole we used a delicate spray rose and thistle with foliage to signify the coming together of Scottish Morven and English Andrew.
I was thrilled to discover Jen Owens would be behind the lens capturing their day and she did not disappoint! She kindly sent over some images for me to share with you all… take a look!

real wedding | alison and stuart

Alison and Stuart got married at Mertoun Kirk followed by Clint Lodge in the Scottish Borders back in June and we were delighted to be asked to design their flowers.
They chose timeless whites, creams, greens and foliage along with a touch of twisted willow and were happy for us to select the flowers used.
For Alison we designed a large bouquet with roses, sweet peas, hellebores, green eryngium, white scabious, spray roses, soft ruscus & twisted willow entwined.
The bridesmaids had bouquets of just gypsophila with trailing ribbons and the gents had rustic buttonholes with the smaller elements from the bridal bouquet.
I was delighted my studio neighbour EnaMay Photography was shooting this wedding and she has kindly sent me some images to share with you all… Enjoy!

article | the life of a florist

I was delighted to be asked to feature on Florismart’s online magazine series ‘The Life of a Florist’.
It’s been a journey to get to where I am just now and it’s not been easy but I have loved every minute. You have to take the good with the bad and ride every wave taking notes along the way. It’s all been worth it to watch my crazy kids grow up. Here’s to the next few years…!

real wedding | lana and gregor

I’ve been fair excited to share the images from the lovely Lana’s wedding at the Kingsknowes Hotel, Galashiels. The camera wizard behind these photos was Laura from Eilidh Robertson Photography. I love how she captured the day - the happiness surrounding Lana & Gregor is so clear to see. I was smiling the entire time I was sat selecting these images.

For flowers Lana wanted to keep the colours simple and complementary of her bridesmaids dresses so we went for whites, creams & greens. She loved texture so we added in some succulents and lots of lush foliage alongside some white roses.

We added a little touch of foliage, eryngium and white spray roses to copper geometric candle holders which we placed down the aisle. Later they doubled up as table centres alongside cacti favours for the guests.

Rather than trying to explain how gorgeous it all looked here are some photos to show you all.
